Our God Reigns. We are held within His Hand….the whole world. His authority is full, complete, and perfect. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and His righteousness an everlasting righteousness. As you, as me, as a church, as a community, as a country, as a continent, as a world, and as a universe we are in Almighty Hands…the hands of Yahweh. The One who sees, knows, and understands the thoughts and intentions of each of our hearts. The One who establishes a man’s step, weaving the choices and actions we take, for better or worse, into His Plan. Of course, we know that doesn’t mean we do whatever we want! He made us to have free will and the only right and best way to use it is to align it with God’s will. We corrupt and damage, hurt and destroy; that is the hard reality of our choice to sin. God, though, can still use even our mistakes, when we make them, to further His Purposes. What a wonderful thing! What an amazing God!
Every sparrow in the field and the cattle on a thousand hills are under His reign. The smallest details are in His hands, just as much as the “ greatest”. Every separate, individual note of the grand symphony is known by the Writer and Conducter. He is the writer, the artist, the musician, the poet whose plans stand- Whose thoughts and ways are higher and deeper. He is the author of our story, the painter of our lives, the One who makes our spirits like unique songs! Here are some great Bible verses that speak to us of God’s reign in our lives.
“ Therefore David blessed the Lord before all the assembly ; and David said:
‘ Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.”- 1 Chronicles 29:10-12.
An interesting piece of information; there are three psalms that begin with the words, “ The Lord Reigns”.
( At least there are in the New King James Translation).
Psalm 93
The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The Lord is clothed,
He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established so that it cannot be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.
The Lord on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea.
Your testimonies are very sure; Holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever.
Psalm 29
Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones,
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars,
Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes them also skip like a calf,
Lebanon and Sirion like a wild ox.
The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.
The voice of the Lords shakes the wilderness;
The Lords shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth,
And strips the forests bare;
And In His temple everyone says,
“ Glory!”
The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood,
The Lord sits as King forever.
The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.
“ The Lord has established His throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.” - Psalm 103:19
“ ‘ Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, and His Redeemer, the Lord of hosts; I am the First and the Last;
Besides Me there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, Let them show these to them. Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” - Isaiah 44:6-8
“ God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.”- Psalm 47:8
“ I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone had immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.”- 1 Timothy 6:13-16
“ The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.
All Your works shall praise You, O Lord, And Your saints shall bless You. They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and talk of Your power, to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.”- Psalm 145:8-14

Clouds and darkness surround Him;

He dwells between the cherubim;
Let the earth be moved!”- Psalm 99:1

“ Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me.”- Isaiah 46:9
